This is a change in style from Sadie Jones, in this, her third novel. It is a pre-war glimpse into an upper class household where a twentieth birthday party is taking place. The evening is spoiled for all involved when a train crashes nearby and survivors arrive at the house. The book is a comedy of manners and also a supernatural drama. I loved the ending. An amusing and well written story, very enjoyable.
