Off the Page - Jodi Picoult & Samantha Van Leer

This was an enchanting read, possibly better than the first novel which was lovely. This one is clever and less simplistic as we find Oliver the fairytale prince adapting to life in the real world so that he can be with Delilah. I thought it would be less charming away from the fairytale and hadn't expected the humour, the genuinely funny moments and misunderstandings! Then Oliver gets the message 'come back'and we realize that all is not well in storybook land.

There is lots of switching places, and characters stuck in the wrong land that keeps you reading avidly. Great characters (I loved Frump the dog) and a swiftly moving plot which is necessary as the characters have little real depth. This romantic comedy/fantasy has a light feel, but also some surprisingly sad moments that are well written and affecting.

I love the gorgeous cover that comes to life with the zappar app. Hopefully this great co-authorship will continue! 5 stars seems very high but this was the perfect read at when I was unwell. (I would advise reading 'between the lines first' although it can be read as a stand alone novel)
