I had high expectations for this novel after an eager wait for its publication. I was not disappointed. Slipping back in time the story surrounds Dorothy Smithson, her wartime sweetheart Jimmy and friend Vivian, their entanglements and secrets. Wonderful storytelling it is both heartwarming and intriguing in turn. No one quite matches Morton in this genre. Pure indulgence!
