An unusual apocalyptic story that takes a bit of getting into with its disjointed writing style. It is about a Hig, a man who struggles to survive when a blood disease wipes out most of the population, with only his dog, an unsavoury neighbour and a small aeroplane holding a limited amount of fuel. There are surprisingly gentle moments and beauty in the sparse writing, illuminating our frailties and instinct for survival and love. Worth reading.
